The olive cultivation in the locality has been very important since years ago. Olive production, vine or cereals were the main livelihoods in Yunquera. From the olive, we can produce a fantastic “Yunquera gold”, very valuable and very popular with foreigners.

The oil, is not just used to prepare different foodstuffs, but along the story, it has evolved and nowadays, there are a lot of uses and properties that has been discovered about it. During these two days, you will know with a farmer from the town how they work in the country, how they recollect the olives, tools, materials, etc. You will can participate actively in all of these activities.
While we are working, we can also discover some curiosities about the oil from this town in the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves.

- Day 1: We depart from the Torre Vigía to visit an ecological olive with its owners. They will explain to us the different stages of cultivation of this product along the year, show us some varieties of olives and some uses.
Also, we can know how is a workday in the olive´s recollection, learning about different ways to pick them up, materials, tools…, at the same time, we will enjoy a delicious “breakfast camper” at the firelight.

After lunch and when we have recovered energy, we walk in a route to know the main wild aromatic plants in the area and their different properties. We will use some of these plants, the next day in two workshops.

- Day 2: We will meet in the Information Center from where we will jump back in the time to participate in a workshop. Here, we will learn about how we can make soup with our oil. That type of soup was used in the past in all the houses for personal grooming, washing clothes, and different uses.
Actually, our uses are adapted to our necessities. For that reason, we will learn about how to product a fantastic body cream with natural ingredients and the most important, the oil. Kent and Ann will show us how they make shampoos, body and hands cream for men and woman, aftershaves, etc. In that morning, we will know and learn to make these natural products, soup and body cream with different ingredients. Finally, we will take home a piece of soup and our cream.
